Peter Mourfield is a key member of TaxSlayer’s executive leadership team, leading the company’s technology strategy and development. As the Chief Technology Officer, he ensures the alignment of technology with the company’s business goals. He also oversees the development and implementation of new technologies.
Starting at TaxSlayer in 2007, Peter has held various roles, including Director of Software Development and Principal Software Developer. He has been an adjunct instructor at Augusta University. He also has previous experience as a Vice President of Software Development at Global Emergency Resources. Additionally, he worked in several roles at Ipswitch Inc., including Principal and Senior Software Developer.
Peter’s academic background includes a Master’s in Computer Science. He earned it from the University of South Carolina. He also has a Bachelor’s in Information Technology from Georgia Southern University.
His professional focus is on leadership and mentoring. He also concentrates on technology strategy and software development. His emphasis is on aligning technology with business objectives.
